John Ross is a businessman, entrepreneur and philanthropist, with a lifetime of a diverse range of experiences. John’s goal is to work with business owners, to share his knowledge and successes, by consulting with them and determining plans aimed at reaching a much-improved level of success.

Executive Leader

John Ross has held major executive positions in the private sector for 25 years with corporations such as Mars, Cottee’s and Toohey’s. His experiences span from plant manager, managing plant constructions, building and commissioning major plants to Director.

One of John’s tenures was working for the Mars Corporation which was, at that time, the world’s largest private company and remains in the top ten today. John worked across all divisions including confectionaries, human food and pet food.

Entrepreneur

For the past 23 years, as a self- employed entrepreneur, John has experience in many industries including food, wine and travel. He and Helen have owned and operated four McDonald’s franchises and was awarded McDonald’s highest prestigious international Golden Arch Award. This award is presented every two years to only 20 franchisee operators worldwide.

John was the founder of two successful travel companies: J&H Tours and Australia’s biggest luxury travel company, Captain’s Choice Tours which included Antarctic Flights. He built Sherwood Estate Wines from a virgin plot and has been a Director of Hastings Estate, a partner to Cassegrain Wines.

Awards

In all these endeavours, John has been widely recognised for his leadership and business expertise. He was awarded five NSW Tourism Awards, winner of ‘Contribution to Regional Tourism by an Individual’ and received an OAM for his contribution to Tourism and Charities.
